The Stall
The stall
a young woman
poised
camera focused down the
length of her body
her belly
distended
rounded
like that of a
black widows body
her navel
large
distorted
the frown of a clown
her long legs
elongated
crawl up the
picture
coming together
below
her belly
a triangle of
womanhood
her feet
pour out from her
ankles the
toes scrunched
together in a v
separated
by plastic shower
shoes
to stop bacteria the
floor a checkerboard
of
white
and
mildewed lines of
grayish black
a bright stark light
casts
a blanket of
white
across crows feet
and
caulked tile
penetrating
beneath the
bottom edge of the
shower curtain
what will they
think
when I leave the
shower curtain
what will they
think
when I leave the
stall with
my camera
