Keep Talking

Keep Talking

“A dream…”

“’What is that noise?’
The wind under the door.
‘What is that noise? What is that wind doing?’
Nothing again nothing.
‘Do
You know nothing? Do you see nothing? Do you remember
Nothing?’

I remember” -Thomas Stearns Eliot “T.W.S.”

I spread deep dark across the sky
Cry I slip in besides
You,
opening egg-shell cracks lost in my mind

discovering the puzzled woman
hiding behind the corn rows.

Waltzing in and out:
Osh-Kosh-Bgosh
Tripping Keds over fresh stalks cut
Down
Down
Were you found?
Did the wise wanderer talk to you,
Offer his offer…
I wonder.
Snowy virgin twinkle of light
Filters and flitters
Into your endless night.
A small pocked dog laps at faces,
Those unstuck in certain places,
Dissipated
Little girls liking
The hide-n-seek game of time.

Discovering the puzzled woman
Hiding behind the corn rows.

Waning moons,
Many in the sky
Try
As they will, to pull
Corners from walls…
Ceilings from doors…
The speckled people

Cry
Weep the joy
Reap the words.

They are watching
They are watching
They are

Discovering the puzzled woman
Hiding behind the corn rows.

The overalled child
Strikes warmth resounding
Into a pillowed place
Deep in my face
And in your face.
