Cement Shoes

Cement Shoes

A tree nearby
crushed the words of deception and deceit,
pouring it’s acidic blood,
running down gnarled limbs
falling deeply into a pool of it’s own
lapped by the majority, drunk by money
Laughing the jackass and elephant
waltz across eternity.
Throwing raw meat to the masses.
Clutching money hungry mongrels,
rocking them off to sleep
with remorseful nursery rhymes.
Layed to sleep in the chilled waters
of corruption, held there by shoes,
new shoes heavy as if bricks. A naive smile
of nothing being the last image loved ones
have of the discovered friends.
Carried in procession, put away to an eternity
of sleep, by choice.
