Mock Trials
February 27, 2008
I don’t know what to expect, but I think I wanted the Mock Trials from Monday to be better. I know we truncated their preparation time, but every year the kids lead the witnesses, and every year there are people who seem to have done nothing for the trial. Some groups did pretty well, and I loved seeing the kids dressed up. I even had one guy cut his hair shorter to prepare. I actually think of the trials I saw, the other teacher’s kids did the best job in the one class.
Shirley and I did discuss our disappointment, and I don’t think it was the kids’ faults (part of the reason we changed it from 100 to 50 points). We decided we’d give them a reprieve and schedule another mock trial for next quarter, and I expect some Law & Order smack down in my classroom!
